State Representative John P. Fresolo Announces Community Policing Funds for the City of Worcester

Worcester, MA Representative John P. Fresolo proudly announced that state funding for the Community Policing Program was again included in the FY09 Budget. Rep. Fresolo helped not only to secure the $652,650.00 in community policing funds to be used throughout the City of Worcester, but also fought and again secured an additional $100,000.00 for foot patrols in the neighborhoods of Union Hill, Vernon Hill, Grafton Hill, Quinsigamond Village and Green Island, which are within his district.

Rep. Fresolo said, "I am extremely proud to announce that for the tenth straight year, I worked hard to secure $100,000.00 in funding for the Community Policing Program. The money directly subsidizes two police officers to walk the streets of my district. This program has made all the difference in reducing the amount of drug activity, gang violence, and other crimes in my district, and will continue to do so under my watch."
