Fresolo Helps to Secures $50,000 in FY09 Budget for South Worcester Neighborhood Housing Units

Worcester, MA- In the FY09 budget $50,000 in funding has been allocated to the South Worcester Neighborhood Center for the creation of employment services and housing services for residents of the South Worcester and Green Island neighborhoods.

Executive Director of the South Worcester Neighborhood Center, Ron Charette, said the following in regards to the funding, "The funding for the South Worcester Neighborhood Center comes at a time of cutbacks and reductions in federal funds we had been receiving. This new money will allow South Worcester to provide case management services in the areas of housing and employment assistance to residents of the South Worcester and Green Island neighborhoods."

The funding will employ two new workers at the neighborhood center that will aid residents in the fields of housing and employment.

"I am happy to have helped secure this funding to help this neighborhood and support the good, hard-working people of South Worcester and Green Island," said Representative John P. Fresolo.
