State Representative John P. Fresolo to Seek Re-Election
Worcester, MA Representative John P. Fresolo (D-Worcester) announced today that he will seek re-election to the 16th Worcester District seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Currently serving his fifth two-year term, Rep. Fresolo told a gathering of family and friends tonight that despite a large amount of encouragement to mount a run for the 2nd Worcester Senate seat being vacated by State Senator Edward Augustus, he felt more strongly about continuing to serve his neighbors and constituents in the 16th Worcester District.
Rep. Fresolo told the gathered crowd that growing up on Union Hill on the south side of Worcester held special meaning for him and that the privilege his community has shown him by letting him serve as their Representative in Boston was the most persuasive factor in his decision to seek re-election.
"I am grateful for the support and encouragement of my family and friends over the years that led to my successfully running for State Rep. in the 16th Worcester District and in keeping the seat since 1999. Tonight I am announcing that I will seek re-election so that I may continue to listen to my constituents and friends and bring their voice to the legislature on the issues facing all of us in Worcester," said Rep. Fresolo.
Rep. Fresolo announced that a fund raiser, a rally and campaign organization meetings have already been scheduled for April and May and that he planned to campaign vigorously for re-election as State Representative.
